How Scores Work

Every vendor on Is My Lab Legit? receives two scores: a Trust Score and a Price Score, each on a 0–100 scale. Scores are pre-computed from structured data and stored statically. They do not change per-visit and are never influenced by vendor payments or sponsorships.

Trust Score

A weighted composite of four independently assessed sub-factors. Higher is better.

35%

Lab Testing

Whether the vendor provides third-party Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for their products, the accreditation of the labs used (e.g. Janoshik Analytical), and how consistently new batches are tested. This factor carries the highest weight because it is the most objective and independently verifiable signal of product purity.

30%

Review Sentiment

Aggregated sentiment from publicly available user reviews, forum threads (r/sarmssourcetalk, r/sarms, Evolutionary.org), and community discussions. Positive reports of correct dosing, expected effects, and good customer service raise this score. Complaints about misdosing, counterfeits, or poor fulfilment lower it.

20%

Vendor Longevity

How long the vendor has been continuously operating. A vendor that has run clean for 5+ years has had more opportunity to demonstrate consistent quality than a vendor launched last year. Longevity alone does not guarantee quality; it is weighted at 20% to reflect track record without over-rewarding old but mediocre vendors.

15%

Community Reputation

Broader community standing beyond direct reviews, including moderator endorsements, presence in pinned vendor lists, Discord/Telegram community quality, and absence of documented scams or significant controversies. This factor carries the lowest weight because community opinion can be manipulated through brigading or paid promotion.

Formula

TrustScore =

(labTesting × 0.35)

+ (reviewSentiment × 0.30)

+ (vendorLongevity × 0.20)

+ (communityReputation × 0.15)

Price Score

A measure of value-for-money relative to market average. Higher means cheaper relative to peers.

For each vendor we record the price of specific products alongside the current market average price for that same product (e.g. RAD-140 10mg/mL 30mL liquid). The price score is derived from the ratio of market average to vendor price across all tracked products.

Formula (per product, then averaged)

ratio = marketAvgPrice / vendorPrice

PriceScore = clamp((avg(ratio) − 0.5) × 100, 0, 100)

ratio = 1.0 (at market average) → score ≈ 50

ratio = 1.5 (33% below market) → score ≈ 100

ratio = 0.5 (2× market price) → score = 0

A score of 50 means the vendor prices at market average. Above 50 means below-average pricing (better value). Below 50 means above-average pricing. Price score does not reflect quality; a vendor with a high price score but low trust score is cheap and unverified.

Letter Grades

Applied to the Trust Score for quick visual reference.

A+90–100Exceptional: consistent COAs, strong community trust, long track record
A80–89High trust: reliable testing, broadly recommended
B+70–79Good: solid reputation, minor gaps in documentation
B60–69Adequate: some verification, mixed community feedback
C50–59Below average: limited COAs or documented quality concerns
D40–49Poor: significant trust issues, use with caution
F0–39Fail: no verification, known scam, or closed vendor

Data Sources

  • ·r/sarmssourcetalk and r/sarms community discussions and vendor review threads
  • ·Evolutionary.org and Musclechemistry forum vendor feedback sections
  • ·Publicly available third-party COAs (Janoshik Analytical and other accredited labs)
  • ·Vendor websites for pricing, establishment date, and catalog information
  • ·FDA warning letters and regulatory notices where applicable
  • ·Independent third-party testing published by community members

Score Updates

Scores are manually reviewed and updated on a rolling basis. Each vendor entry shows a Last Updated date reflecting when the data was last verified. Scores are not updated automatically. If a vendor's situation changes significantly (new COAs published, community scandal, closure), the score will be revised at the next review cycle.

Because scores are pre-computed and stored, they are identical for every visitor. There is no personalization, A/B testing, or vendor-influenced ranking.
